What happens when the ghosts haunting a house are the ones who want to be left alone?

After newly deceased couple Adam and Barbara Maitland find themselves trapped in their beloved Connecticut home, their afterlife is disrupted by the arrival of the eccentric Deetz family and their wonderfully gloomy teenage daughter, Lydia. Desperate to reclaim their house, the Maitlands turn to a wildly unpredictable “bio-exorcist” named Betelgeuse, and quickly discover that getting rid of the living may be easier than getting rid of him.

Tim Burton’s breakthrough supernatural comedy is a gleefully strange mixture of ghost story, screwball comedy and macabre fantasy, featuring Michael Keaton’s unforgettable performance as the title troublemaker alongside Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder.
