Kakunoshin, renowned for his skills with a sword and in the game of go, embodies the samurai code. Falsely accused of a theft, he is forced to become a lowly ronin. Years later, when a case of missing gold pulls him into a new web of intrigue, Kakunoshin uncovers the truth behind his downfall. With the real culprit exposed, the go board flips, and a hellstorm of righteous vengeance follows.
Arrive early on May 1 for a special pre-show experience from 6:00–7:00 PM. Members of the Saint Louis Go Club will be on hand to demonstrate the ancient strategy game of Go, inviting guests to sit down, learn the basics, and play alongside experienced players. Representatives from the Japan America Society of St. Louis will also be present, and complimentary Japanese snacks will be available before the screening.
The Saint Louis Go Club promotes the playing of the ancient East Asian strategy game of Go. Continuing the game’s over 2,500-year history, the club welcomes everyone to explore this challenging and beautiful art form.
The Saint Louis Go Club meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:00–9:00 PM at Game Nite (8380 Watson Road).
