While vacationing on the windswept Cornish coast, London siblings Roderick and Pamela Fitzgerald discover an abandoned seaside mansion and impulsively purchase it for a suspiciously low price. Their dream home soon reveals a darker history: inexplicable cold, the scent of flowers, strange noises, and the sound of a woman sobbing in the night. The mystery deepens when Roderick becomes involved with Stella Meredith, a young woman whose mother died at the house years earlier and who feels an almost irresistible connection to the property. As the Fitzgeralds investigate Windward House’s tragic past, they discover that its restless spirits may be tied to secrets the living would rather leave buried.
