Four-Legged Film Festival

Spend the afternoon celebrating our favorite four-legged stars with a joyful, family-friendly double feature—and a little circus magic to match.

Circus Kaput will be on hand throughout the day with a face painter, a balloon-animal maker, and a magician bringing the fun indoors, plus a stilt walker and bubble maker delighting guests outside on the sidewalk.

At 1:00 PM, the 8th Annual New York Cat Film Festival kicks things off with 21 delightful short films selected from more than 70 submissions across 14 countries, from Australia to Uzbekistan—definitive proof that cats truly rule the world.

At 3:00 PM, the 10th Annual New York Dog Film Festival follows with 15 shorts chosen from 64 submissions spanning the U.S. and 14 international countries, continuing a decade-long celebration of the joyful, life-affirming bond between people and dogs. The program includes two Purina Dog Chow Service Dog Salute award winners, spotlighting the life-saving relationships between specially trained service dogs and veterans living with PTSD.

Sponsored by Circus Kaput, this special event is also a fundraiser supporting the cats and dogs of Open Door Animal Sanctuary—come for the films, stay for the fun, and help animals in need along the way.
